Deep Fried Mushrooms

This is a perfect snack for all vegetarians as it brings out the deliciousness of fried crunchy mushrooms. This recipe yields 7- 8 servings.

Deep Fried Mushrooms

Ingredients

  • 1 pound button mushrooms, quartered
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups oil for frying, or as needed

Directions

  1. First, stir together the flour and garlic salt in a medium bowl, And then, mix in egg and water until smooth.
  2. Next, heat the oil in a large deep skillet over medium-high heat. After that, test to see if oil is hot by frying a drop of batter. If it sizzles and floats to the top, the oil is ready.
  3. And then, dip mushrooms into the batter and then place in the hot oil. Fry a few at a time so they are not crowded, until golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes.
  4. Lastly, remove from oil with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  5. Deep Fried Mushrooms are ready to serve!
